To see what we’re all about, and to see pictures from past NYC Roadtrips, visit:
Our Home Page.

WHO TRAVELS ON NYC ROADTRIP?

Artists, “non-artists” and everybody in between.  The age-range is 20 – 65 years.

WHAT IF I DON’T KNOW ANYBODY?

No worries. Lots of people travel solo with us. If you’re willing to extend yourself and participate, you’ll have a great time.

HOW DO WE GET THERE?

By chartered highway coach. A very clean, comfortable, cozy ride.

WHERE DO WE STAY IN NYC?

We stay at one of Manhattan’s finest hostels, a short walk from the subway, Central Park and other amenities.

* If you are signed up for NYC Roadtrip, please email us for more details about our hostel.

WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS?

We stay in dorm-style suites. Suites are co-ed, unless otherwise requested. Our suites are EXCLUSIVE to our group (meaning, nobody from outside our group stays with us). We do our best to see that you bunk with people who have similar needs, etc. And yes, you can stay with your friends.

Rooms include lockers, clean linen & towels, and private washrooms.

HOW MUCH MONEY SHOULD I BRING?

It depends on your lifestyle. Some people spend a lot of money. Some people do not. Some people can get by on $10.00 a day, whereas others will spend much more.

Ddespite what people say to the contrary, getting by in the city can be relatively affordable.

To start, $27.00 will get you a 7-day public transit pass, which entitles you to unlimited travel. It’s a great deal. And you will use it a lot. Also, our hostel has a great kitchen and big dining area, so you can save money by cooking your own meals. If you can’t afford museum fees, find out when the free days are, or forego the museums and hit NYC’s innumerable free galleries instead.

Otherwise, it’s up to you to do a little research and budget according to your lifestyle.

WHAT KIND OF IDENTIFICATION DO I NEED TO ENTER THE USA?

For full info on visiting the US, visit: US Customs & Border Patrol.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: You are responsible for finding out what kind of identification you need to enter the US.

SHOULD I GET TRAVEL INSURANCE?

Yes. We strongly recommend that you get travel insurance. Look into it. It’s relatively cheap and could save you a lot of money and inconvenience in the event of an unfortunate accident.  A good place to start is Blue Cross.

WHAT DO WE DO IN NYC?

We lead organized tours & activities each night and day we’re in the city, to compliment your personal plans. We focus on the local, off-the-beaten-path New York City experience, and we try to visit all five Boroughs of New York City (Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island).

Otherwise, the Big Apple is yours for the picking. There’s so much to see, do and experience. We recommend that you research in preparation for your journey. Familiarize yourself with the NYC subway system at NYC subway system, to start. Purchase a current/relevant guidebook (such as Lonely Planet, Let’s Go, The Rough Guide).  Alternatively you can purchase our very own NYC Roadtrip PocketGuide, which contains our own research and conveniently fits in your pocket.

Overall, your personal plans combined with our activities, together with spontaneous happenings, should make for a well-rounded New York City experience. * Just keep an open mind and go with the flow.

DO I HAVE TO PARTICIPATE IN ORGANIZED ROADTRIP ACTIVITIES?

We highly recommend that you do. You don’t have to, of course. But you should. Our activities are great starting points – to get to know other Roadtrippers and discover parts of New York City that you might not experience on your own!
