It’s a tight squeeze and the drinks aren’t cheap ($7 Heineken), but, hands down, this is one of the city’s best live jazz experiences. Seriously. It’s the real deal. Talented local musicians and seasoned session players alike play nightly to a magical mingling of devout regulars, tourists and everybody in between. Monday night jams are legendary, and Saturday night Afrojazz affairs are more real than real. There’s no kitchen, but neighborhood cooks happily serve-up tasty home-style grub from catering tins they’ve brought from elsewhere. No cover but a two drink minimum.
